A Tuscan pasta shape from Val di Chiana. The reginelle are accompanied by ragù based on game such as hare or rabbit. The name of this format, according to some, is due to honor the birth of Mafalda di Savoia, princess of Italy, daughter of Vittorio Emanuele III in 1902. The grains are ground so that they do not heat up during grinding, keeping the organoleptic properties unchanged .
